Summer Programs @ Georgia Tech! go to http://www.ceismc.gatech.edu/summercamps for details.

More extra credit: All extra credit was due by Wednesday, May 13.

  1. Read a book about a math topic and write a 3-paragraph (minimum 5 sentences per paragraph) book report. If you read a book that is written for very young children, you must include discussion of how the book can help a young child learn math. You may do up to three book reports for extra credit.
  2. Write a report about a mathematician. There is a list of resources at http://traylork.home.comcast.net/~traylork/algebra/mathworld.html . The report should be one or two pages of content, typed double-space or handwritten. No PowerPoints. Include a list of resources. If you plagairize, you will get a zero, which will NOT help your grade. You may do up to three reports for extra credit.
  3. Choose three activites from Mrs. Traylor's Online Activities page that cover the same topic and that we have not done in class. Spend at least ten minutes doing EACH activity (for a total of at least 30 minutes). Write a three-paragraph report on your activities; the first paragraph should name and describe the activities you did, the second paragraph should compare and contrast the activities and the third paragraph should give your reaction to the activities, a discussion of how they fit into your math curriculum and whether you think they would be helpful in learning or practicing a math concept. You may do up to three reports for extra credit.

A game to try: "Algebra 4" is like Connect 4 but you solve equations to drop chips.
